山东体育学院是一所以体育学学科为主的普通高等体育院校。

学校始建于1958年。2000年，经山东省人民政府批准，与省体育运动技术学院、省体育科研中心合并，组建成新的山东体育学院。

截至2018年12月，学校建有济南（校本部）和日照两个校区，校园占地面积2060余亩，校舍建筑面积57.9万平方米，教学科研仪器设备资产总值 12140.5 万元，学校拥有纸质图书 583870册，电子图书1769937册；学校设有11个教学机构，20个本专业，5个二级学科硕士点、1个一级学科硕士点；有教职工711人，专任教师415人，博士生导师8人，硕士生导师161人，全日制在校生8380人。

Shandong Institute of Physical Education (SHPE) is a general higher physical education institution with physical education as its main subject.

The school was founded in 1958. In 2000, approved by the People&,39;s Government of Shandong Province, Shandong Institute of Physical Education was merged with Provincial Sports Technology Institute and Provincial Sports Research Center to form the new Shandong Institute of Physical Education.

By December 2018, the university has set up two campuses in Jinan (the main campus) and Rizhao, covering an area of 2,060 mu with a floor space of 579,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment assets is 121,405 million yuan. The university has 583,870 paper books and 1,769,937 electronic books. The university has 11 teaching institutions, 20 specialties, 5 master&,39;s programs of second-level disciplines, and 1 master&,39;s program of first-level disciplines. There are 711 faculty members, including 415 full-time teachers, 8 doctoral supervisors, 161 master supervisors, and 8380 full-time students.
